Taking my new Merrells for a spin !

Oh hast thou forgotten how soon we must sever?
Oh hast thou forgotten this day we must part?
It may be for years and it may be forever;
Oh why art thou silent, thou voice of my heart?

Yes it is sad I am talking about my old shoes.Pretty sad.

I was lucky enough to go for a walk in Toronto and find these Merrell shoes.
For just a little more money then the price of admission to the
Terra Cotta Army I bought these instead.Good choice. I think.
I really needed the shoes.
Out with the old, in with the new?

I like to get up early in the morning when I travel I want to take in all I can. My new Merrell's and I went for a few hours just walking through the city. These are some of the sites I seen.

Voting day awesome doorway.
This was a voting poll I seen. Later that day K went to vote so we went in here. It was full of Aboriginal art. A lot of prints and oils, I really enjoyed it. I told you free art is everywhere.
Church window.

Street Car.

Cool tree. Halloween.

Funky Art.
OK  not on my walk I just like this. St. Lawrence Market. There is a person in here.

The architecture in this city is amazing. I found myself looking up  most of the time.I could show lots of pics of the beauty and skill that went into this city.
I enjoy the complex detail in the simple designs.
You can see the CN tower off in the distance. It looms over the city almost like a guard.
There was a group of children practicing for, I assume, a upcoming soccer game. This University of Toronto track is awesome.
You can always see a good photo op if you are looking. This shop on Bloor St. was  so nice I had to take a shot. This street has lots to see.
Hours walking and observing,  I love this city. You will never be bored here. The people, the view. It does not cost anything to walk and enjoy.
Printing press.

This old printing press was in front of a business on DuPont St. I love the look of it  but kept thinking I would like to see it in use not as art on a  front yard. Imagine what was printed on this in it's day. Maybe some famous print maker made lovely art with this.
Well my Merrill's and I had a lovely walk, my feet are still comfortable and I will not be posting any more pics of Toronto. I had a lovely time with my girls and look forward to going back again soon.
I will not be getting rid of my old shoes right now, still attached. They will be great hiking through the bush on the farm.

Later.

  1. Glad to hear that your new Merrells got a taste of the city, but expect they will be happy to return to the trails.

I can totally relate about not wanting to get rid of old shoes. You should see our house ;) I even went so far as cutting the laces off of the shoes I wore for my first 100 mile race and wear it as a bracelet. Memories.
