Adventures with Sparky!

"Gentlemen of the jury: The one absolute, unselfish friend that a man can have in his selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is his dog"
                                                                  Senator George Graham

I hear the howling, I turn the corner there he is. He is glad to see me. Howling for joy. Oh to be wanted is always a great feeling.  Our adventure begins.
I am lucky enough to spend time with Sparky, we enjoy  the same things.Wandering aimlessly, exploring the land. Not worrying about time. Not a care in the world.

He is looking for squirrels, chipmunks, and raccoons, I am looking for photos. We are both very curious.
His head pokes into a hole, the scent of chipmunk, no doubt. I love the determination in his face.I am sure if he encountered one, the chase would be on. He does not know they are much faster than he.
He comes to see what I have found. I throw the stick and he runs to fetch. This game goes on for awhile.I tire of this before he does.

Off  we go, down the lane, he checks every nook and cranny. He loves this.
Sparky goes ahead but keeps looking back to keep an eye on me.
He does not run to far ahead, the peanut  butter sandwich in my pocket is always in the back of his mind.

We head back to the house he is tired, so am I. What a great walk.

He sits and waits, I give him his sandwich.

  Life is good.

Later.
