Waiting and Watching!

“It is curious how tyrannical the habit of reading is,
and what shifts we make to escape thinking.
There is no bore we dread being left alone with so much
As our own minds.”
                    James Russel Lowell

This is what I should be thinking of but-----

I am waiting, it is very late in the evening, I have received the phone call from the airport, and they are waiting. There is giggling, and laughing, in the back round as M is letting me know they are ready to board the plane to the Netherlands, I know they are fine. She sends me a photo, thanks to an Iphone (gotta love technology). They are smiling, and look very excited.
So, why I am I sitting at this computer?  I am reading newspapers, and blogs. Why am I not sleeping in my bed? I have much to do in the morning and should be getting some sleep.
I have found the Flight Tracker site, you can actually watch the plane going across the ocean on your computer screen, I am reading the instructions, and am fascinated by this technology. Is this a good thing, or a bad thing?
The flight should be leaving in a few minutes; it is only an eight-hour flight. That would carry me through till morning. The girls would be sleeping comfortably on the plane all the while their crazy Mom would be watching this little plane dance across her computer screen, while trying to stay awake sitting in an office chair. Maybe this is way too much technology.
I would get a couple of hours sleep then have to go out to bale the hay that My Hero has laying on the ground. Ok, sounds really crazy now. I would be grumpy, and miserable, Miss Mollee would not enjoy my company.
The girls would be in Holland laughing, and giggling even though they were tired, never knowing that their crazy Mom had stayed up all night to watch their little plane dance across her computer screen.
 There goes the little plane.
Ok this is crazy. I am going to bed. Too much technology. I have hay to bale tomorrow.
 Night All!

Later.

Well It is 6:52 a.m. my cell phone rings. It is a text from M. They made it, they did not sleep at all.(probably too excited). I on the other hand slept like a baby.

  11. I can identify with your anxiety and your sleep! Good thing you didn't have to bay hay while exhausted!

  12. I'm thinking that if you hadn't had the hay baling in the morning, you'd have stayed up all night watching that plane. I would've too :D)
Always lovely to get that "we've arrived" message.

  13. Your girls are gonna be just fine!!! I know they will LOVE holland and don't let another crazy Dutchie (me) make your head spinn with all kinds of scary crazy stories!

AND if they ever need a friendly face, just let me know, i'll tell my little sister and she will take care of them (although i am sure they will see friendly faces enough)!

    big hugs for mommy worries!
