My Fear of Blogger Awards!

Errors, like straws, upon the surface flow;
He who would search for pearls must dive below.

                          John Dryden

OK, I have to come clean about ignoring Blogger awards that have been graciously passed on to me. It is not that I am not extremely grateful and flattered, it is not that I do not appreciate them, on the contrary, I love that you think I am worthy. I just get so stressed out trying to pass them on to only a few bloggers. I truly love my Blogger family and could never just pick a few, so I must admit I just ignored them, I am truly sorry.

I would like to thank   Annette at http://aspenmeadows.blogspot.com/2011/10/award.html

for passing these awards on to me. I am truly honoured that you thought of me.

I would also like to thank Sandra at http://reallifeinaminute.blogspot.com/2011/11/life-on-farm.html for the special post about my blog. Thank you so much.

Since I cannot and would not be able to pick just a few bloggers to pass these on to, I would love if you would  click on anyone of my very deserving Followers at the top of my blog, you will be amazed at the talent out there. I am sure you will not be disappointed in any of their blogs.

Now that the hard part of apologizing is over I am going to tell you seven things about me that you do not already know.

1) I have a new strange obsession with taking photographs of   recycle, or garbage. It may be washed up on to  the Lake Front rocks, lying in the middle of the road, or even tossed on the side of the road. It makes me very sad to see, but it makes me appreciate it for art. I may post some of these photos sometime.

2) I always worry about hurting other people’s feelings, hence the Blogger award phobia.

3) I have never travelled too far from Ontario except for twice to British Columbia and twice to Montreal. I hope to change that someday.

4) I would love to meet some or maybe all of my Blogger friends someday.

5) I have a pair of Red boots that I bought in high school, they have not fit me since then but I cannot give them up. I think it has something to do with the movie Footloose and the girl wearing the red boots was very cool. Sad isn’t it?

6) I love to sing around the house, on the road, in the tractor, and walking in the woods. My girls summed it up perfectly the other day  “Even if she doesn’t know the words, she makes them up.”

7) I am truly grateful for everything this life has given me. I am truly blessed with a great family, wonderful friends, and now you, my blogger family. I try not to take for granted any of these gifts that have come into my life. You make me smile.

Thank you.

  1. Aw, what a very endearing post! You are so sweet and I must admit I chuckled at the thought of you hiding from your awards. I just say thank you very much but I choose to operate an award free blog. Well done to you for following through. I loved learning a little more about you and the fact that you sing regardless of whether or not you know the words! You have a happy soul! I do hope those pretty red boots are on display and not hidden at the bottom of your cupboard!

  4. i love the red boots! just endears me to you somehow!

and i have done this exact thing the last few times i've mentioned getting an award. i'll half play - spilling some trivia about me, but i don't pass them on any more. i know that rather stops the flow of them in Blogland, but it is very difficult to single out only a few without hurting others.

  5. I know what where you are coming from regarding blog awards. I found it soooo hard trying to pick a few so I decided not to.
It is a nice way to learn about people though.
I would also love to meet fellow bloggers one day. So many lovely people out there.

  8. It is so nice you've been recognized.. but I too would be hard pressed to pick just a handful of my blog-friends out of all I visit and enjoy...

  9. So nice to learn new things about you. I think you should try on those red boots again.

  10. You DO deserve The Versatile Blogger award. But I agree it is a challenge to choose just a few among your list of favorites to pass on the kudos. I so wish we lived closer so we could visit in person. Keep the red boots and keep on singing.

  12. Like you I'm always singing. I agree about the difficulty of choosing best bloggers. Every one is individual and valuable. They are all important because they care enough to support each other and take the time to be part of each other's lives.

  13. I feel guilty now. I got a blogger award and never passed it on. The reason being the same as yours. All the blogs I follow are worthy of them.

  14. Today, many blogs are award free as it can become difficult to pass them on and write things about yourself. To each his own in this department. It's flattering to receive them and not always easy to deal with. People should not feel any pressure when they get them.
    Congrats to you!

  15. I say ditto to #1,#2, #4, and #7. I don't know what it is about recycle and garbage! When you do your post/photos, let me know and I'll do a companion post. Might be fun. I'm currently obsessed with plastic grocery bags after watching a doc on a guy who is truly obsessed with them and finds them everywhere...even inside fish. Now that I have planed the seed you will see them everyday! And that is unfortunate! Sandra

  17. Oh Buttons; you have the most tender heart and I mean that as the biggest compliment ever - compassion is a decision and you my friend are the wisest blogger out there - there should be a wise blogger award (one you dont have to send on!) and I would nominate you RIGHT NOW :)

  18. Hi Buttons, Great to see you receive these well deserved awards.
I'd join you in the singing although lately that's a pipe dream for me...maybe later...
I'm always still there in the background although not always commenting. I sometimes feel like a mom keeping an eye on her chicken. Maa
