Oh The Dreams Art Will Stir!

We are the music makers,
  And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
  And sitting by desolate stream;
World-losers and world-forsakers,
  On whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers
  Of the world forever, it seems.

       Arthur William E. O’Shaunghnessy

 This painting hangs in my living room inspiring me to dream. I stare at it every day and imagine myself sitting on the edge of that smooth rock you see on the left. My eyes are drifting to the top of the mountain admiring the snow covered peaks. I know you can’t see it but not far from where I am sitting and down the well-worn path is a little cabin nestled behind the gigantic pine tree. I watch as the white smoke billows out of the chimney making its way to the fluffy white clouds that hover around the top of my mountain.
I can hear the brisk wind blowing from the west whistling through those pines and rustling the few leaves on that tree. The birds are singing and the sun is shining.

I cup my hand and scoop cold water from the crisp clear lake. I bring it to my lips, this untainted clear cool water. It passes over my tongue and I shiver.
If you are reading this you are a dreamer too. You can imagine me living my dream passing scenes like this in the wilderness of Canada. The dream this painting has long inspired. I am passing the mountains while dreaming of that little cabin, well hidden from my view, even though I know it is there. I am wondering what painting is hanging above the fireplace and what dreams it is stirring and for whom.

Isn’t art wonderful?

Since there is no access to the internet in my dream I thought I would leave you a glimpse of just what I may be seeing and thinking. I know we all have dreams and I believe they do come true. You just have to believe and be patient. Never stop dreaming. See you soon.

Later.

  3. I had to smile when I saw your painting as I have one that is remarkably similar in our living room and always catch myself gazing at it wondering if such a place really exsists.:)
