My Blogger World!

It is a sweet thing, friendship, a dear balm,
A happy and auspicious bird of calm.
                                    Percy Bysshe Shelley

The phone rings I jump out of bed to run and grab it before that darn answering machine that I have not taken the time to figure out how to use clicks on with that strange man’s voice who asks for the message beats me. I pick it up it is My Hero “Blue Box today” he is talking about the recycle truck that comes to pick up our recycle every week. This is country living but with some of the benefits of modern day conveniences. I thank him and tell him I will put the box near the road and sarcastically say thanks for waking me up. We both laugh; it is 7 a.m., I guess I had slept in. Annie will be waiting for breakfast soon. I hang up and smile thinking of his voice.

I pull a sweater off the back of the chair and slip it on, it is cool today. I look out the window and I see the beauty that I had almost missed. The amazing sun rise in all her glory shines and the light bounces off the new fallen snow sparkling and twinkling; dancing light on diamonds. I can see the treetops back in the bush and how the cold North wind blows the snow off those tree tops creating a blizzard effect. Oh I love this.

I make a quick coffee check my Blog world while drinking it and then head downstairs to get dressed to go visit with the girls. I pull on those old coveralls while smiling and thinking about this Blogger world and the friends I met through it meaning as much to me as that incredible view from my window that I have the privilege of enjoying every day. It is always different and I love the mystery of never knowing what I may see or learn every day. I love the feeling of that anticipation of sharing in those friends’ moments. I love my Blogger family and sharing the special parts of their lives that they choose to share with me, it gives me such joy. I realize just how much of a difference this has made in my life.

I head down the lane way in the tractor thinking of the phone calls I will be making today. Friends I need to talk to, friends I have never met but need to hear their voices. Friends who have become a very important part of my life for different reasons all because of a little old Blog that circles around the world picking up like minded people. People that may be so very different in many ways but so very much alike in others, all sharing the good and the bad much like a real family. Good people and true angels from parts of the globe I may never see.

I feed those hungry cows, and while I am dreaming Annie pulls the nipple off the bottle and spills that sticky milk all over my Cadillac boots, I smile and wonder if I should share her shenanigans this morning with my Blogger family, just like I would with my own family. The cows are running around but some of the calves pose for photos because I do believe they know the photos will be shared with people who mean so very much to me. I try to clean my sticky boot with handfuls of snow while all the time Annie is bumping me from behind. I wonder if she realizes I am not her Mother and she is getting too big to do that. I fear I may land on the ground one of these times. I pat her on the head and tell her I have to go as I have a very important phone call to make. Bump, bump.

I received a special package in the mail on the weekend it was from a fellow Blogger in my beautiful Blogger world, I sat there in the parking lot of the drugstore with tears running down my face knowing the camera, I had just pulled from this box was truly from a person that will never really understand how very much they are loved and how humbled and grateful I am to have such beautiful caring, loving Blogger family. This person thanked me for letting them “Pay it forward”. Yes this person thanked me, now that is a true angel with a huge loving heart.

After talking to this incredible person I found out a little more. I am sure everyone remembers our dear friend Leontien and her loving family's request to do simple acts of kindness in her name. Leontien as we all  know was the most wonderful loving, strong, and funny person in our beautiful Blogger world. She is truly missed by so many. I will gratefully accept this gift in the true spirit in which it was given. I in turn will continue to pass these simple acts of kindness on to others in memory of the sweetest lady WE knew in this Blogger world. She will never be forgotten, our special angel.

I know that there is so much LOVE in our world and I have truly experienced that more times than not in this virtual family. I will be using that camera while always thinking of you, my to remain anonymous friend, with your selfless generosity, and our sweet Leontien, her loving Bastiaan and her incredibly loving family.

Thank you, I loved talking to you and finally hearing your sweet voice.

Yes the views from my window are truly beautiful but it pales in comparison to my view into the hearts of others I have been lucky enough to find in this My Blogger World.

  12. B! There is nothing like paying it forward! Just before reading your post I got a call from a friend who read my blog and offered to give me a camera...which I will gratefully accept. Small world, that it should happen to both of us. I agree, there are so many beautiful and caring people out there in our Blogger families. And to perform an act of kindness in the name of Leontien is over the moon. Look forward to your pictures.

  29. You said it right, Buttons, blog friends are wonderful, sometimes much kinder than face-to-face friends, more understanding, more supportive, more respectful when you need your space. The world is a very wonderful place with them in it.

Leontien is much missed. How sweet that you got your new camera from that kindness her family requested in her name.

    ((hugs))

  31. What a beautiful post. Made me tear up, knowing that you are loved and thought of in such a special way by people you have never met in person. Then I began thinking of all the times I have been on the receiving and giving end of the blogger community. I like the way you labeled it a family though, which is a bit more accurate. What a gift!
