Patience, persistence and smiles.

Assuredly,
all nature informs us that man is born for happiness.

Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canadians and Happy Independence Day, coming up, to all my American friends.

It’s foggy and raining here this morning on this Canada Day here on the farm, so some of us may be putting all that celebrating on hold, or moving it indoors. I will be travelling. Oh yes, once again I am off to places unknown, (at least to you) for a bit. I hope you know there will be stories, (good ones), with any luck at all. That is the great thing about life you never know when something incredible is going to come along and how it will change your world.

Take those Taunting Turkeys for example. I have been trying to get shots of them for years now, without very much luck. With patience and persistence I have finally done it. It does not hurt that they are kind of turning into show offs, much like Bossy2, lately.

As soon as I bring that camera out, it seems that our whole world, here on the farm, is ready to join the Blogosphere world. I actually am beginning to think that they must have figured something out. That something, being what I have believed was needed and that is, making smiles. The world needs to see my friends, it needs to smile and forget those things that are bothering them, at least for a while and just smile.

Oh yes the animals here on the farm, I do believe, just want to make people happy. I am all for that. So, I am going to give them their audience. I have needed smiles myself, and found blogs that for years have consistently made me smile. Huge smiles for the rest of that day. In some cases, I have had no idea who that creator of smiles would be, but in most cases (because I have been blogging a long time) I know exactly who those writers and photographers are. These people who just want to bring those smiles to all of us when we need them.

Today I want to personally thank every one of those bloggers, who consistently bring those smiles to us. Even when they may not have a smile that day themselves, they always give one to us. I know we all know who those bloggers are. Those bloggers, who are out there and consistently spreading the joy that is needed. They rock my world, and I have no doubt rock the lives of many others needing to think very differently at least for a moment.

Have a good week everyone, be safe and I will be back very soon.

Yeah for catching some turkey shots. While moving cattle 10 days ago we saw 3 female turkeys and a bunch of little ones.

  4. You have no idea how happy I was to see your name pop up on my blog this week! Thrilled to see you posting again, and glad you caught those pics of the illusive turkey. We actually had two wild turkeys drop into our backyard here in the suburbs last week. They nearly drove my puppy mad! Safe travels! Will be back to say hello again soon!

  8. Are those turkeys wild? That's amazing if they are. I have the same problem with our crows, there are 4 big trees behind our garden and they come and sit on our fence and eat the fat balls we put out for them. I would love to get some pictures so I can draw them but the second they spot the camera, they are off.

  9. Heh! Great job capturing those wild turkeys... Happy Canada day to you Buttons. Seeing that cow butt in the last picture brought a smile on my face. I see a lot of those here on our farm too and I think that the turkey just can get enough. He may be looking for his next meal. hehe.

Be happy where ever you go.
    Hugs,
    JB

  10. Happy Canada Day my friend, and thank you for the smiles! Thank you, as well, for the inspiration: Seeing your wild turkeys made me realise it's been a while since I posted an 'Animal Tale', and I have one involving a wild turkey that will fit the bill quite nicely.

  11. And a happy Canada Day to you, too, Buttons! It's nice to see the peace and harmony at your happy, homey farm. Your turkeys aren't cowed a bit when the girls show up.

Jacquelineend.... speaks about posting an "Animal Tale." The only one I can think of is George Orwell's "Animal Farm"; not a tale to bring joy to people, for sure. Sigh!

    Blessings and Bear hugs, anyhow!
