Rocky Shores and Peace! (Photo Day)

“ Our life is like some vast lake that is filling with the streams of our years.
As the waters creep surely upward the landmarks of the past are one submerged.
But there shall always be memory to lift its head above the tide until the lake is overflowing.”
                                                   Alexander Charles Augusta Bisson

I have always found myself drawn to water. It has a calming effect only equalled to my time in the bush.

The thin ice is still covering the lake but the rocks are now exposed. Just a few short weeks ago they were covered with ice and snow.

The limestone juts out over the water, its ruggedness mixing with the soft hues of the blue sky.  A thing of beauty created yet again only by Mother Nature.

The ducks are long gone from sitting by the park bench. I sit here gazing at the wind turbines far away in the background. I wish I could capture their beauty for you.

We will have to settle on the rocks, the ice, and the blue sky and dream of the wonders still to come. This is what peace looks like.

  4. That last shot is especially divine... So beautiful!

  5. I feel the same way about being drawn to water. A friend was showing me some pics of her vacation in the West...lost of desert and mountains. It was beautiful. But then I saw another set of pics on her computer....ocean...I had to ask for a peek. We have a pond and there is one area of it that my husband calls Cindy's area. It's so peaceful.
