One Year Ago!

My special thanks, whose even balanced soul,
From first youth tested up to extreme old age,
Business could not make dull nor Passion wild:
Out-topping knowledge.”

                   Matthew Arnold

One year ago on this day I was at a crossroads in my life. I had all this creative energy stirring in my soul and no idea what to do with it.
My brother A+ suggested blogging, I did not even know what that was. My good friend H asked me “What do you want to do with the rest of your life, what is your passion?”
This blogging thing was worth a try. It would combine my love of photography, and storytelling. I could even put to use my strange obsession with old quote books. It would also document my life, and my thoughts for my girls, something they have always wanted; something I truly wish my Grandmother, and my Father had done.
I look back on my earlier posts and see my grammar, and punctuation mistakes. I told my brother, I was not sure if I should write this way. He told me to “just be myself.”  I thought about going back and correcting all the punctuation mistakes but they are my learning experience. I am sure you still notice many punctuation mistakes, and my grammar is well “ME”. I truly have a problem with the to, and too words, I am not really sure why. You have still stayed with me in spite of this; I appreciate that.
I have been so blessed with over one hundred followers, and almost  21,000 page views. In my over 300 (wow) posts I think I have evolved, I hope I have evolved. I now have four binders full of these stories; yes I print everyone for my girls.
I had no idea what would come of this endeavour. I was surprised to find a strong emotional connection with my blogger family. I truly love this.
I want to thank you for hanging in there with me. I hope to keep blogging and just maybe touch your hearts, and fill your minds with my thoughts, and photos. I do hope you are OK with that. Thank you all so much.

  1. You have a wonderful blog because you write from your heart and write about things that interest you.

I have also found that blogging fills a need and provides me an outlet. To be honest, I love my followers and have established meaningful relationships with many of them, but I write for my own ends, not to fulfill any expectations of others.

  2. I have enjoyed reading your posts learned a lot more about you. You write being yourself totally, because that is you.
    Your friend M xoxoxox

  16. I have never noticed a mistake. Your storytelling is so, that I'm completely enraptured. I love your blog and look forward to every post. I also love your photos. You have the ablility to take a photo of something old and used and give it the proper dignity it deserves. I think it is such a treasure for your childeren and someday grandchildren. Thank you for the glimpse into your life and the positive entertainment you provide me. I so hate the negativity of television and enjoy the creativity of blogging.

  17. Dear B, keep being your special self - that's what shines through in your blogs. So glad you decided to start a blog, I look forward to each visit.

  18. even if someone has NO followers we learn something we leave our footprint and we impact someone at some point. thank you for sharing part of your life I hae read and seen some things I would never have seen before and that is of great value to me.

I think in writing my own blog I have grown in many ways too sorta like when we wrote diaries as children there was more to that then what meets the eye.

  19. You truly have a gift for telling a story and taking beautiful pictures, and many of your quotes are new to me and therefore more interesting. There is so much to enjoy here!
