and when you are no longer greedy for the last drop of it,
it means no more than that you have set your face,
whether you know it or not,
to the day when you shall depart without a backward look.
Those who look backward longingly to the end die young,
at whatever age.

As you read this I am probably on the bus heading to the Big City to meet my girls. I love the idea of this adventure on my own. On a bus armed only with my backpack, my trusty map, my cell phone and of course my camera.
I will arrive in the middle of Toronto the largest and busiest city in Canada.
I have my little map with my route marked and I know all the important places. I will step off this bus and head straight to the World's Biggest Bookstore, my map tells me it is just around the corner. I will see if it is true, this sounds like a great place to start.
I have no agenda I may hop a subway, or I may walk it all depends on the weather. The city has always had a wonderful vibe to it. I love the unpredictability of this whole adventure.
No worries, I will be meeting up with the girls later and I have my phone just in case I get lost, but I do know how to read my trusty map. I will take my time enjoying all the city has to offer my mind, my soul, and especially my camera.
I will return soon with hopefully tales of adventure, and intrigue of a country girl stepping off the bus in the middle of the city, having no idea what she will be doing.
I am so excited!!!.
Later
I did post Photo Friday for tomorrow.(Thursday)
How exciting. I hope you have a wonderful time. Do some mind clearing, soul searching, and share it with all of us.

ReplyDeleteI rarely visit Toronto, but when I do, I love to walk downtown. MILES AND MILES AND MILES - whoops, I should say Kilometers. The downtown area is one of the areas where I do feel safe, more than I can say for the neighbourhoods where my kids actually LIVE.
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a great time Buttons. Will watch for your return. Maa
ReplyDeleteYou go girl!!!..Have fun..
ReplyDeleteJealous of your visit to the largest book store in the world. You will have to report back on that one. But first you'll have to tell us how much fun it was to get back together with your girls. HAVE FUN!!

Another Country Girl. :))
Ya had me for just a tick of a second there...I thought.... what happened to the photos and tales of the country mouse going to the city? ...oh..... there it is....you posted Friday's early...hahaha.... okay then...I await the next posting.....
ReplyDeleteme...I could live without big cities..... I live in a fairly big one actually...but, it doesn't really seem like it. We live in an older subdivision...with huge trees and lots of greenery...even a golfcourse across the street.... 5 minutes to shopping but, not near the downtown core. I never go down there..... ick..... oh, except for eye and dental exams... used to work there for years....but, now... happily don't have to go that far....
