A Day of Nothingness!

A thing of beauty is a joy forever;
It’s loveliness increases; it will never
Pass into nothingness.
       John Keats.

I long for a day of nothingness.

A day where the trees surround and hold me so tight, my body cannot move.

A day where the sounds of nature are so loud, my ears cannot hear the calling of my name.

A day where abundant beauty holds my attention, my eyes cannot wander.

A day where the sweet smell of the cedars is so overwhelming, my nose cannot escape.

A day where the peace and solitude is so smothering, my brain cannot think.

A day where the clouds will lift me so high, my heart cannot ache.

A day where everyone has this place to escape, and they will not suffer.

Just one day.

A day of nothingness.

  1. Pure peace. Hard to find these days.

  2. Wow! Did you make that up all by yourself? You're a poet! Beautiful. And so do I....long for that day. My friend told me she stayed in her pajamas the other day and crocheted and crafted all day long. sigh.....

  3. I long for this too Buttons! But then I'd probably be bored! :)

  4. I do this a lot now. I like to keep busy doing nothing.

'How beautiful it is to do nothing all day, and then to sit down again afterwards and rest'.

  5. A woman after my own heart - taking photos of the fallen feathers!! I love the dragonfly, too!
I know what you mean about craving a day of nothingness... I don't know how to get one, either...

  6. Beautiful photos and lovely, lyrical prose. I hope you get your day of nothingness soon Buttons.

  7. In a word - retire. But, not nearly so poetically expressed.

  8. sweetheart, i wish that for you, too...

  9. Sounds like a wonderful day to me!

  10. wow this is so cool looking what a catch

  11. SOUNDS wonderful! I'm wishing for a day of gentle steady rain r perhaps 2 in a row.

  12. First off...your photos are just wonderful!

I also hope you can have your day of nothingness...and friend.

  13. how beautiful. a wish for all...

  14. Ah Buttons your words are so lovely. I hope you get your day of nothingness - it sounds wonderful.

  15. Wouldn't that be awesome... lovely thoughts and photos to match. xo

  16. oh make those my words as I long for a day of nothingness ...

  17. I will post more photos of the cow parsnip and you can see if it is your evil weed!

  18. What a lovely post and the dragonfly is beautiful! :)

  19. I truly believe it is a matter of slowly but surely becoming unpluged again. I think that is why I am not blogging....I want to just be...enjoy the simple things again...not have to think of "is this worth sharing?"...not have to think about I should take a picture. Learning to read a good book again...I read A New Earth by Echart Tolle...kind of new age but parts of it was really really dad could have written it if he had put his thoughts into words....our ego contols so much of our the long run...things we think just are not that important but to know what I mean...
